Javen and Wong Qi Shen stopped in the semi-finals, while Alice Chang advanced to the semi-finals

(Kuala Lumpur, March 31st) Javen Choong and Wong Qi Shen were knocked out in the men’s doubles semi-finals, while Alice Chang made her way into women’s singles semi-finals.

WTT Feeder Antalya 2023 has come to the quarterfinals today. Alice Chang, who has no world ranking currently, turn the tide and won Li Yu-Jhun from Chinese Taipei 3-2 (8-11, 8-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-7), which currently ranks 90th in the world ranking. Entering the semi-finals, she’ll meet Harimoto Tomokazu’s 15 years-old sister Harimoto Miwa.

Yesterday, Alice Chang defeated Welsh player Anna Hursey 3-1 (10-12, 11-6, 11-8, 11-4) in the round of 32, and then defeated Huang Hsin from Chinese Taipei, which ranked 255th in the world ranking 3-0 in the round of 16.

On the other hand, Karen Lyne lost the game to French Audrey Zarif 1-3 (4-11, 11-9, 11-7, 11-5), and was forced to stop at the round of 32.

As for Malaysia’s men’s doubles team, Javen Choong and Wong Qi Shen roared their way into the semi-finals by defeating Singapore’s Clarence Chew and Beh Kun Ting 3-1 (7-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-5). Unfortunately, in the semi-finals, they were knocked out by another Singapore’s team Izaac Quek and Pang Yew En Koen with 5-11, 5-11, 11-7, 11-13.

In the quarterfinals last night, Alice Chang defeated Li Yu-Jhun from Chinese Taipei with the result of 3-2. Malaysia’s men’s doubles team of Javen Choong and Wong Qi Shen lost to Singapore’s team Izaac Quek and Pang Yew En Koen with 5-11, 5-11, 11-7, 11-13 in the semi-finals.
